После отправки нескольких демонстрационных работ в компанию FamilySoft, получил работу в ней, и занимался написанием саундтреков к играм по аниме-франшизам, что оставляло мало места для самовыражения. В результате Рю Умемото устроился на работу в C's Ware, где стал озвучивать их визуальные романы. Первым заданием но новом месте стала игра XENON в жанре эроге.
